ABOUT LINDA KRUGER
Art was one of Linda’s favourite subjects throughout her high school years. Unfortunately marriage at 21 and raising three kids, eventually as a single mum, did not leave much time for recreational activities such as painting. Many years later, after retirement and onto her second marriage, she decided to take art lessons and start painting again. She has always been an admirer of Irma Stern and Maggie Laubser’s art and has fashioned her own work loosely on a similar style. She loves bright and bold colours and favours painting in oils.
In her sixties she enrolled at Carol Laws art studio in Muizenberg Village and spent many happy hours under Carol’s expert guidance alongside many aspiring artists. Sadly Carol fell in love with, bought a historical cottage in Swellendam and left for pastures new.
Linda still paints alongside her friend (a former student of Carol’s too) and most of her work is for her own or family’s consumption. Both Linda and her husband Johann are passionate about collecting art and each artwork acquired over the years has special meaning for them.
Johann has now created an art website, Art 4 U, as a platform for artists to display their artwork and Linda has added a few of her paintings to the mix.
